We are looking for a Structural Engineer
who can work permanently with us in Fondwa
for a minimum of one year. The engineer
will work within a team of Architect, Business
Consultant, Construction Workers and University
Administrator, to oversee the rebuilding of all
destroyed structures and facilities. This is a
volunteer position with a monthly stipend ( US
2,500.00), plus a commission on founded projects
including room and board.
The
ideal candidate for this position should have a
minimum of 5 years experience in tropical
country construction and possess a strong
structural design and architecture background.
Experience in earthquake and hurricane resistant
structures with solid knowledge in wood, steel,
concrete, and masonry are essential skills.
Ability to live and travel in post-disaster zone
are necessary - Language proficiency in
Haitian-Creole and/or French preferred, but not
