Summary: Manage Fonkoze's Human Resources Department:

1. Ensure the Institute's philosophy, mission, strategy, objectives, policies, procedures are    developed and respected.
2.  Place human resources tools at the disposal of branches and offices
3.Create a performance based culture centered around the Institute's goals that motivates employees to  carry out their responsibilities and advance the mission of the Institution.  

4.Assist in the organization of departments and strengthening the knowledge of staff.  Advise managers on staff structure and human resources procedures.

Qualifications: 
Eduction: 4 year college degree.
 
Work experience: minimum 5 years experience in human resources with at least 3 years experience at a director level.

Vacancy at Fondwa

We are looking for a Structural Engineer who can work permanently with us in Fondwa for a minimum of one year.  The engineer will work within a team of Architect, Business Consultant, Construction Workers and University Administrator, to oversee the rebuilding of all destroyed structures and facilities. This is a volunteer position with a monthly stipend ( US 2,500.00), plus a commission on founded projects including room and board.  
                           The ideal candidate for this position should have a minimum of 5 years experience in tropical country construction and possess a strong structural design and architecture background. Experience in earthquake and hurricane resistant structures with solid knowledge in wood, steel, concrete, and masonry are essential skills. Ability to live and travel in post-disaster zone are necessary - Language proficiency in Haitian-Creole and/or French preferred, but not essential.

Celebrate the third anniversary of The Haitian Memorial Monument October 9th in Savannah, Georgia
The Haitian American Historical Society will be celebrating the third anniversary of the creation of the Haitian Memorial Monument at Franklin Square in Savannah, Georgia on October 9, 2010. The Haitian Memorial commemorates the Chasseurs-Volontaires de Saint-Domingue, a unit of 700 soldiers made up of free men from Saint-Domingue (the name of Haiti before the Haitian Revolution) and the largest contingency of soldiers of African descent to fight in the Revolutionary War.
 
The celebration includes an interfaith church service at the Savannah Seventh-day Adventist Church, an Afro-Caribbean History Diaspora tour of the city of Savannah, and a Haitian festival with music and drinks at Franklin Square. To continue the celebration, a dinner gala will be held from 7-11pm by the Haitian American Historical Society with the honorable Ertha Pascal Trouillot (former President of the Republic of Haiti and the first female president of Haiti) will be providing the keynote address.
