The Renaissance Project : Hope for Haiti and the Arc-en-Ciel Dance Troupe  

The goal of the The Renaissance Project is to build a sustainable farming village in Arcahaie to shelter 1000 people; provide jobs, education, and health facilities to those displaced by the devastating January 2010 earthquake.

What: Mercy Corps is hosting a business mentoring workshop at the Femmes en Democratie Women in Production exposition at the Miami Beach Conference Center to celebrate the launch of a new business mentoring platform to connect entrepreneurs in Haiti with volunteer mentors in Haiti and abroad (www.micromentor.org/haiti)

This event will cover the basics of business mentoring and will include breakout sessions to help entrepreneurs identify the problems they are facing in their business and mentor one another on how to address these problems.

Volunteers Needed!: We're looking for volunteers that can help us facilitate the peer mentoring event and translate some parts of the program into Haitian Creole. All Haitian Creole speakers, people with business experience and current and future volunteer mentors in the MicroMentor program are welcome!

Haiti-Outreach International Haitian Diaspora Phone Conference June 23rd - HDF A Year Later & Beyond

"State of the Diaspora" conference call on June 23rd, 2011 at 12:00pm EST and 8:00PM EST.  The purpose of the call is to engage members of the Haitian Diaspora with HDF, review and provide input on HDF's proposed strategic plan, and to have an action oriented conversation on how the Haitian Diaspora can have a positive impact in the reconstruction of Haiti by serving as leaders in a unified Diaspora organization.

Right after the earthquake, the group Ile-a-Vache Development Group, along with several groups in the Diaspora, has taken the initiative to launch Village Vacances. This little paradise located at Ile-a-Vache is intended as a model to prove that beauty still exists in Haiti through its natural sites and hospitality of its people.  Enjoy this video and come visit us soon.

·         The Fondwa Bakery is at 5minutes from  the Tonmgato Market (operated on Wednesday and Saturday)  and at 10 minutes from  the FondwaDistribution Centers Fondwa

3)Production, Sale and Customer Capacity 

a) average sale per week US $ 25,000.00

b) 200 regular customers ( Street Vendor  Women)  who can purchase bread per week each for about US $ 125.00 ( or  Gdes. 5,000.00)

c) Other Potential  Clients:  The Fondwa Restaurant, The  APF Center,   the  Fondwa  Orphanage, the School  of  Fondwa " College Fraternité  St. Antoine," and  more than  5 or 6 other schools  in  the area and  about 10 different Church goers.

· It has a new metallic oven fueled with a burner  and  diesel gas
· Small electric oven 
· A small engine can which can take a gallon  of  diesel gas
· A Flour Mixer  ( Bread Machine) 
· A big table for cutting the bread
· A 40 kw diesel  generator in repair
· A new  Inverter of  600w

·         A used Inverter of 400 w which needs to be repaired

·         129 Small tray and 72 tray Large

·          40 small  bread shaper ( Mold) and 20 Big bread shaper

·         A file cabinet

·         A desk

·         A set of shelves ( to cool off  the bread

·         A shopping cart

5)    Staff:

         There is a prepared team of  12 people   who have many years of experience in the bakery.  But, they will need additional training.

· There is a second room that is used for  storage the goods
· There is a third  room which is  Sale room
· There is another space that is used for the Cashier

·         The Fonkoze Bank is also located in the same building
